HelpAge India has successfully demonstrated the village level institutions called village level federations (VLFs) as a strong handholding mechanism for the Elders Self Help Groups (ESHGs) in rural India. Villages in India greatly vary in their geographical, social, economic and political features. At one hand, one may find that there are villages where there are only few families and on other hand there are villages with thousands of families. Therefore, the implementation of VLF concept will vary from village to village.
